20 Greatest Video Games You've Never Played

5. Ico

Year: 2001 Platform: PlayStation 2 If it weren't for the comparably huge success of Shadow of the Colossus, there's a good chance Ico would have faded into obscurity by now. As it stands, Ico is the best puzzle-platformer you've heard of but probably never played. A strong argument for video games being art, Ico makes use of distinctive, minimalistic visuals, marked by blown-out whites and abstract architecture. The same style would later be used to great effect in Shadow of the Colossus. Ico's biggest triumph was in its emotional core, thanks to the relationship between main character Ico and Yorda. Though no words are spoken, the fragility of Yorda makes you feel compelled in your mission to protect her, making the beautiful climax all the more satisfying. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSRIlwXDBB4
