Year: 2005 Platform: Xbox Rather than sticking to what they knew best, the Oddworld Inhabitants team made an action-adventure, first/third-person Oddworld game, very different from anything else they'd tried before. While this absolutely paid off with regards to quality and critical response, the game was a total flop that Oddworld Inhabitants were barely able to recover from. Like other titles in the franchise, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is a weird game. Players take control of Stranger, a criminal-catching bounty hunter in the Wild West of Oddworld who gets wrapped up in a demonic plot. The gameplay was ridiculously good fun, taking place in the third-person while exploring or platforming and switching to first-person during the gunfights. Best of all, the weapons fired 'live ammunition', in which creatures could be used as projectiles with varying effects. You know a game's good when even the ammo has personality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFvQLTRW6Kw
