20 Greatest Zombie Games Ever

12. The Typing Of The Dead

Developer: WOW Entertainment Released: 1999 Platform: Arcade, Dreamcast, PC, Playstation 2 No, this isn't just a joke entry. Well, not completely anyway. Typing of the Dead doesn't require the use of a controller or lightgun in order to dispatch of the undead. Instead, the player(s) are given keyboards, with the aim of typing out words attached to enemies before they reach the player and deal out damage. Technically an educational game, Typing of the Dead earned a massive cult following not just due to its bizarre quirkiness, but also because the gameplay is genuinely a lot of fun. Trying to quickly type out "onomatopoeia" without any mistakes is a lot harder when there's a one-eyed rotting corpse about to make a meal of you. A successor, The Typing of the Dead: Overkill was released late last year, delivering the same level of extreme typing education in a shiny new package.
