20 Greatest Zombie Games Ever

10. Resident Evil 2

Developer: Capcom Released: 1998 Platform: Playstation, Nintendo 64, PC, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Game.com Resident Evil 2 was to the first Resident Evil what the Aliens movie was to Alien. Ditching the claustrophobic mansion for a range of different settings in Raccoon City, Resident Evil 2 was more intricate, cinematic and introduced a stronger narrative. Like the two Alien movies, which one you might prefer is entirely down to personal preference. Resident Evil 2's greatest achievement was its totally absorbing atmosphere, enhanced by Masami Ueda masterful soundtrack themed around desperation. Raccoon City proved to be an iconic location, becoming the setting of several games and movies in the franchise later on. The gameplay itself was a continuation of the first's mix of puzzles and slow-paced gunplay, which eventually went on to be a template for survival horror for years to come. Resident Evil 2 is considered by many to be the best from the classic age of Capcom's franchise, and for good reason.
