15. Dead Island

Developer: Techland Released: 2011 Platform: PC, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 Dead Island was never going to live up to the spectacular CG trailer that got hundreds of gamers frothing at the mouth upon its reveal. Despite this, it did feature tense, action-packed survival in a setting that really made you feel like you were battling through a zombie apocalypse. The initial environment of a holiday resort was particularly inspired, providing a novelty The crafting system was also well implemented, allowing the crafting of a variety of gadgets and weapons to combat the zombie hordes with. Unfortunately, Dead Island seemed to get worse as it went on, especially after guns and human enemies became more common. For the opening few hours of zombie survival euphoria, Dead Island is more than deserving of being featured on this list though.
