20 Infuriating Video Game Bosses Nobody Beat First Time

17. General Raam (Gears Of War)

When it comes to defeating General Raam, the hulking antagonist that haunts you throughout the original Gears of War, the game expects you to hit just about every action beat without fail. From perfectly timed reloads to precisely-aimed head-shots, every act you take in this final encounter needs to be spot-on if you even want to stand a chance at defeating the Locust General. And the frustration that comes with this demanding routine of head-shots, dodging and running is exacerbated because the boss himself can take a whole lot of punishment. Even for a video game enemy, Raam treats bullet wounds like they're snowflakes, immune to just about everything except perfectly placed shots. Combine this with the constant threat of being attacked by swarms of flying Kryll, which can engulf you at any moment if you stray too far forward, and what you€™re left with is a frustrating final section that you€™ll end up loathing as you play through it over and over again. But if that wasn€™t bad enough, the actual fight itself is pretty boring, and because you€™re doing the same thing time and time again it becomes more of a chore than a final boss - leaving you to potentially zone out and get killed anyway because you weren€™t paying enough attention.
