10. Crimson Head Zombies – Resident Evil Remake
Purists will always go back to the original PS1 game, but even they have to admit Capcom did a stellar job with the 2002 remake. It gave the game a complete graphical overhaul, added new areas and enemies and it fixed lots of annoying little mistakes from the original.
One ingenious idea was to give the boring old zombies an extra layer of menace, since killing them once isn’t going to be enough. If you kill them their bodies will remain, and about an hour later they’ll come back to life as Crimson Heads, a faster and more aggressive beast that will can really mess up your day.
The only option to prevent this is to burn the corpses or blow their heads off to start with, adding an extra tactical layer to the gameplay.
