4. Using Gestures In Appropriate Situations

Like messages, gestures in Dark Souls are an absolutely ingenious way to communicate how you're feeling, using limited animations.

The Dark Souls community has massively embraced these, and anyone who's ever played this game will become to be familiar with the usage of gestures, particularly in online play.

For example, it's common courtesy when first meeting another player to bow in some fashion. Even if you're invading someone and have every intention of killing them, you should still bow. Why? Nobody knows, but it's become an unspoken rule.

Pointing is always a popular one. It can either be used to say "right, we're going this way, get a move on" or it can be used to point down or up at hidden items.

Then there's the celebrations after a boss fight - the hurrah or joy gesture is a fantastic way to both celebrate the fact that you've felled a boss and also thank your fellow player at the same time. Then, if you can squeeze it in, give them a friendly wave before they disappear forevermore.

Finally, you should always be doing regular sun praising. There's no particular need to do it anywhere in particular, just feel the warmth of the sun flow through you and praise it.
