The first of 2021's most anticipated games to make this list (but by no means the last), Horizon: Forbidden West is on track to become a smash-hit for Sony.

With the PS4's Horizon: Zero Dawn, Guerrilla Games created arguably the best new IP of the previous console generation. Combining stunning graphics with excellent world-building, Zero Dawn was one of the PS4's greatest adventures. Happily, Forbidden West looks set to live up to its legacy.

The gameplay trailer released back in May offered a delectable sizzle reel of "Wow!" moments - A beautifully-lit forest trek, a swim through a stunning-looking seascape, and a spectacular battle against an environment-wrecking robot Mammoth.

Following up a smash-hit can be a tricky business, but it's safe to say Guerrilla Games aren't buckling under the weight of expectations. Forbidden West looks incredible.
