11. Baldur's Gate 3

As you may have surmised, Baldur's Gate 3 is the "long-dormant classic" referred to in the intro.
The Baldur's Gate duology may be over 20 years old, but its influence is still felt today. Any game that lets you play fast and loose with morality (or sleep with your party members) owes a debt of gratitude for Bioware's legendary series. They may not have invented those tropes, but they definitely popularized them for future generations of gamers. (Basically, without Baldur's Gate we may never have been able to boink Garrus).
Living up to the Baldur's Gate name is a daunting task, but one Larian Studios are most definitely capable of. Architects of their own seminal duology - Divinity: Original Sin I & II - Larian most definitely know their way around an RPG, and their work on Baldur's Gate has already been enjoyed by tens of thousands via Steam's Early Access program.
Assuming Larian can work out the bugs before BG 3's release, early impressions are that this will be a worthy follow-up to Bioware's revered saga. All together, now: "Go for the eyes, Boo! Go for the eyes!"
