Like A Dragon (a.k.a. The Series Formerly Known as Yakuza) has been introducing the wonders of Japanese nightlife to gamers for over 15 years. Who knew that, behind Japan's polite society, there lurked a teeming underworld of constant gang battles, hardcore RC racing and sexy shirtless 50-somethings?
If those things sound like they don't blend together, then congratulations! You are still sane. Yet somehow, SEGA are consistently able to find method in their madness, welding these disparate parts together into one glorious whole. This is a series where murder-fuelled crime drama takes place alongside disco-dancing minigames, and where bloody, knock-down brawls punctuate trips between karaoke bars. (And the karaoke really has to be seen to be believed).
Being a remake, we already know Ishin is a standout entry in one of gaming's most enjoyable series, and the chance to appreciate it with additional 4K bells and 60 fps whistles is much appreciated.
