20 Most Replayable Video Game Moments Of The 2000s

2. Shadow Of The Colossus (2005) - Bringing Down The Phalanx

The fact that this is the second time taking down a colossus has featured on this list suggests that there is something deeply embedded in human nature about killing really big things. You can almost empathise with those wealthy folk who pay £10,000 to kill an African elephant, can't you? Ok, not quite... In fact, much of Shadow Of The Colossus' power comes from the guilt you feel after taking down one of these majestic creatures. The Phalanx is particularly breathtaking quite simply because it's the biggest colossus in the game - and arguably the most docile. Chasing this creature as it glides around the desert remains one of the most cinematic and powerful experiences in gaming. And boy, will you feel like a piece of sh*t once you're through with it.
