20 Most Replayable Video Games Of The Decade (So Far)

3. Dark Souls

Replayability can come from a single level, or it could come from difficulty alone, but luckily FromSoftware knew exactly how to do both, designing a world that not only feeds back into itself, resulting in a constant sense of "Ohh, I know where I am!" reveals, but one filled with towering beasties to learn and take down along the way. It results in a general sense of progression that will throw a massive, intimidating creature directly in your path, forcing you to really master the dodges and attack animations on offer to take it down. When building your character there's an obscene amount of creativity present in everything from weapon and armour types to movement speeds, aesthetic customisation, resistances to certain ailments, magic attacks and more. The world of the first Dark Souls is still the best designed out of this, Dark Souls II and Bloodborne. It'll match stunning vistas and breathtaking fantasy architecture with a story you'll have to uncover yourself, enemies you'll cheer when defeating and an overall aura that exudes threat and chance encounters, easily making it one of the greatest games of all time.
