20 Most Underrated Pokémon In History

9. Swampert

Swampert Pokémon
The Pokémon Company

Swampert has one of the best type combinations in any Pokémon game. As a Water/Ground type, it moves from being weak against electric types to actually turning the tables completely and is instead able to swiftly despatch them with its Ground type moves. It's staggering that so many players would still rather opt for a Blastoise.

While a little slower than the likes of Seismitoad at base level, Swampert is much more powerful in attacking and defensive areas and can be decked out with STAB-ready moves like Muddy Water and Earthquake to deal massive damage on the battlefield. This kind of Type combination is exactly what you need to minimise your weaknesses in battle.

Like most Water types, Swampert can also be taught numerous Ice attacks if you really want to help it stand up strong on all fronts and dish out some sweet revenge to otherwise superior Grass types.
