20 Most Underrated Pokémon In History

8. Lanturn

When Gold & Silver introduced a dual type Water/Electric Pokémon, there was an understandable buzz around what Lanturn could turn out to be. Despite this hype, however, the fish has grown to be puzzlingly underused in recent years.

It's stats lean more heavily toward its primary Water Type and it is slower than most Electric Types, but a strong HP stat and some well balanced Special Attack and Special Defence stats let it hold its own for long enough to capitalise on the powerful moves like Hydro Pump and Discharge in its arsenal.

The twin appeal of its two types also means that there are so many Pokémon that Lanturn can seriously hurt in battle, making it a great utility player if you're looking to cover all bases in your team of six.
