11. Watch Dogs 2

WATCH DOGS 2
Ubisoft

Improving on virtually every flaw that made the original game such a mess a few years ago, 2016's Watch Dogs 2 was a huge step up in quality for the franchise.

Dropping much of the po-faced seriousness the series was known for in favour of a more comedic and zany approach to the world of hacking, this sequel attempted to win back players disappointed by the first release by going in an entirely different direction.

But despite radically improving on its core gameplay and story, Ubisoft had burned so many excited fans with the original title that most of them didn't give this second game a chance.

The sequel should have been the start of a new beginning for the series, but it only proved that the Watch Dogs hype was well and truly over.
