20 Most Underrated Video Games Of The Generation (So Far)

15. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Deus Ex Mankind Divided
Square Enix

Despite suffering from a limited scope following publisher Square Enix's decision to split the latest Deus Ex into two different games, Mankind Divided is still a worthy entry into the long-running series.

Once again adopting the player-driven philosophy of the previous RPGs, this time around the game dropped you into a world plagued by the divide between augmented humans and regular flesh-and-blood people.

It's not a new setting as far as sci-fi goes, but it was a surprisingly political and relevant backdrop for a game who's protagonist is a Batman-voiced super-solider with blades in his forearms.

Deus Ex doesn't just get a pass because of its story however, but because it succeeds so much in building upon the foundations set by its predecessor. There are no more awkward boss battles that dragged the previous game to a halt here, and this time around the game doesn't push one specific playstyle over the rest.

Over its four years in development the studio behind Mankind Divided listened to feedback and rolled with it, managing to create a damn good RPG in the process.
