13. Star Wars: Battlefront

Despite releasing without a single-player campaign and only a handful of multiplayer modes, Star Wars: Battlefront was still one of the most satisfying shooters of 2015.

Derided for taking a more accessible and 'arcade-y' approach to combat, Battlefront's pick-up-and-play mentality was actually one its biggest strengths.

DICE made it so easy to jump into a multiplayer game and just start having fun, and it meant that the title was always good for a few rounds of Walker Assault no matter what mood you were in. The approach might have resulted in a game that didn't have the depth or the longevity found in the likes of Battlefield or even Call of Duty, but it made for one that was instantly gratifying.

Plus, for Star Wars fans Battlefront was simply a dream come true. From the sounds of the blasters to the threads on Han Solo's jacket, it was clear that the developers loved everything about this series and were committed to bringing it to life.
