20 Predictions For 2017 Video Games' Metacritic Scores
18. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands (68)
Though earlier gameplay footage for Ubisoft's new open-world multiplayer shooter looked like Metal Gear Solid V on crack, the recent beta unfortunately revealed just how dull and rough-around-the-edges the game feels just a few weeks from release.
Expect praise for the squad-based dynamic, but the horrendous driving controls, lack of mission variety, clunky UI and downgraded graphics are sure to receive plenty of criticism.
Comparing the betas of The Division and Wildlands, the former was a far more polished and positively-received experience, and that ended up scoring 79-80. Expect a steep drop for Wildlands, regardless of how well it ends up selling.
