20 Problems Only FIFA Players Will Understand

15. The 'Cheers Geoff' Meme

9b9eccd2f9879a602c8019ac26e3164a6ed29cc06c674bd5482dda5c6360528e Geoff Shreeves is as big an icon in gaming as Lara Croft or Mario... Okay, maybe not. But still, to Fifa players, he's a constant source of amusement. Just like his real-life counterpart, virtual Geoff mans the touchlines and is called upon by the commentators to give updates on any recent injuries. Humorously, his updates are majorly pointless. He comments on how a player is actually injured (not that it really matters in-game) and makes a guess at whether we'll see them returning (if you're playing online, they're guaranteed to return, making him look pretty silly). Martin Tyler's reply to most Geoff Shreeves comments - "Cheers Geoff!" - has achieved meme status, cemented by a parody Twitter account with 54,000 followers... Not bad work Geoff!

14. Rage Quitting

Nearly every game that is playable online suffers from rage quitters but in Fifa, there's something extraordinarily satisfying about crushing someone so severely; they have to immediately duck out of the game. Of course, if you're scoring for fun (literally), it's also pretty annoying, yet at the end of the day, a victory by forfeit is incredibly sweet. Why is rage quitting so rife within the online Fifa world though? Perhaps it's down to the intensity of the game; it's a 1v1 duel purely for bragging rights most of the time and when people feel like things aren't going their way, they're natural instinct is to blame the game and give up. Of course, We're speaking on the assumption that all of us would never give up when the going gets tough... Right?

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
