20 Reasons 2016's Biggest Video Games Might Suck

15. Telltale's Batman Series Is Too Much Of A Good Thing

Release Date: TBA The Hype: Telltale have made successful episodic adventure franchises out of The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, Game of Thrones, Tales from the Borderlands and even Minecraft, and now, they're turning their attention to the Caped Crusader. It'll follow the typical Telltale formula: that's all we know. Why It Might Suck: Because Telltale just might be biting off more than they can chew. It already seemed apparent with their Game of Thrones series that it wasn't up to the same high level of quality as The Walking Dead, likely because the company has spread itself too thin with far too many projects to juggle at any one time. Though Telltale have said that the game will confront the duality of Bruce Wayne and Batman, it remains to be seen whether the game can capture the essence of Batman as a detective, which is an absolute must and needs to go beyond the usual generic hunt-a-thons that take place in Telltale games. More than anything, though, it could just be too much of a muchness: if it's just your usual Telltale formula with a Batman skin, it's probably going to feel kinda lazy, and as enjoyable as The Walking Dead in particular has been, there's definitely the prospect of players getting fatigued with this samey brand of gameplay. Perhaps Batman is the straw that breaks the camel's back.
