9. El Gigante (Resident Evil 4)
CapcomThe story of David and Goliath is a well known one now; it's served as an inspiration to an uncountable amount of films, books and games through the years. It's influence can also be seen on Resident Evil 4 which used it's new freedom from fixed camera perspectives to create bigger fight scenes against huge bosses like El Gigante. El Gigante is actually the second boss you'll fight in Resident Evil 4 and he's incredibly intimidating. Leon battles him in a close quarters arena, and simply getting enough space to aim your weapon at the hulking beast is a tough task. Truth be told, it's not a terribly difficult fight (much of the damage you'll deal to El Gigante will actually come from your knife, quite bizarrely) but you'll do well to survive it in one go, especially on Professional difficulty. At the end of the day, like David, you'll feel supremely satisfied when you manage to topple the giant... until you progress further through the game and come up against two at once.
