20 Severely Underrated 90s Video Games You Forgot You Loved

5. WWF Attitude - PSX, N64, 1999

The game that really brought the wrestling video-game genre to the fore was WWF Smackdown in 2000. But it owed a lot to several wrestling games that preceded it, most of all the largely forgotten WWF Attitude. Sure, there were also the WCW/NWO games for the N64, but Attitude was the one that caught the spirit of one of the greatest, edgiest periods of wrestling. For the first time, wrestler entrances actually looked convincing, sending shivers up your spine when one of the many legendary wrestlers of the era made their walk to the ring. Pretty much every match mode was available in the game, allowing to create the fantasy match-ups of your dreams. The squelchy, crunching sounds when you pulled off a neckbreaker or tombstone piledriver exacerbated Attitude's gritty, realistic feel, and the character creator was quite possibly the deepest seen in any game at the time. This is where the modern wrestling game began, and don't you forget it!
