Despite Mortal Kombat's set being full of highly skilled martial artists, there are few reports of jostling egos among the cast, perhaps because it was so obvious who the highest-ranking warrior on the set actually was.

François Petit, who played Sub-Zero, had been involved with the movie's production behind the scenes since the early '90s, yet only ended up playing the part because the producers couldn't find another suitable actor.

But Petit's martial arts accomplishments speak for themselves: he holds an 8th-degree black belt in GOSHINDO ju-jitsu and a 7th-degree black belt in karate do, among other prestigious titles.

Fun fact: Petit was also the head doctor for the WWE in the mid-1990s.
