With Bungie gone and 343 Industries balancing the solid release of Halo with the absolutely disastrous reception of the Master Chief Collection, it's up to the developer to regain their footing with Halo 5. Coming at a point in the franchise's history where the team are reportedly looking to eventually break away from focussing wholly on Master Chief, this could be the best way to shift focus and start building newcomer Jameson Locke into a worthwhile replacement. Whether fans will even respond to another protagonist froting Halo other than the green-helmeted space marine we've all come to know and love is another story, but being that the advertising so far has posited that the two characters are at odds with one another, it could end very shockingly with the demise of the Chief after all.
