9. Need For Speed

With Burnout sitting this one out (so far anyway, Criterion are working on something unannounced that could show) it's over to EA to satiate the more arcade-happy racing fans with an even bigger name. Rumoured as returning for a while, whatever the newest take on the Need for Speed formula is going to be has finally been officially confirmed. Whether that'll be the street racing-style of SHIFT or another Hot Pursuit reincarnation with cops n' racers is up for speculation at this point - although considering how terrible 2013's Rivals' was in its presentation and 'story', hopefully it's something different altogether. Whatever the case, titles like Driveclub, The Crew and Project CARS are the only three out on the tarmac right now, and it'd be great to see something do away with their slightly more serious takes on the genre in favour of a blisteringly-fast racer that leaves the competition trailing in the dust.
