25 Greatest Musical Tracks From The Halo Series

18. Enough Dead Heroes - Halo: Combat Evolved

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=1dMVkt-x710 Musically, it has been easy for the Halo series to conjure up a tune for the human side of the story, and out of all the themes and ideas of human salvation spread throughout the series, "Enough Dead Heros" is on top of the list. It is the one musical track in the series that started it all, and paved the way for other militaristic and human themes later on as the series progressed. "Enough Dead Heroes" is one of those marvelous Halo: Combat Evolved tracks that is based off a personal standing within the game itself; behind the orchestras and choruses lies a background for why the track is aptly named the way it is. The Human-Covenant war raged on for 27 years, with countless innocent lives lost. The UNSC retaliated in the only way they could: by launching an all-out counter assault on the Covenant, and even then humanity suffered losses ranging in the billions. The lives of marines were lost nearly every second in droves. With the title "Enough Dead Heroes", it serves as a eulogy for those who fought up til the events of Halo: Combat Evolved and died protecting the only thing that mattered to them or anyone else: the protection of Earth and all her colonies.
