25 Most Criminally Underrated PS2 Games Of All Time

5. Black

Black game
Criterion

Tapped to 'do for shooters what Burnout did for racing games', Black was Criterion switching nitrous for assault rifles and pure firepower. Putting an emphasis on sound design and the feel of firing any gun, they aimed to ape all those scenes from the likes of Predator or Rambo where blasting the holy crap out of everything was just The Coolest Thing Ever.

As such, the plot didn't even matter - Black was set up to put goons in your way (or next to explosive red barrels) and arm you with weapons that when they fired, it sounded like the mouth of Hell itself was roaring into life.

It did just that, and became something of a cult hit in the process.
