30 Classic SNES Games You Must Play Before You Die
20. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
Despite being labelled as a sequel to Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island has very little in common with the superb platformer - don't worry though, it's still great in its own way.
Yoshi's Island serves as a prequel to the series, tasking the player, as Yoshi, with defending and carrying a helpless Baby Mario. The graphics, which look like they've come straight out of a child's colouring book, are incredible, giving the game a look and feel which dramatically separates it from the Mario universe.
It may sound like one giant tedious escort mission (shudder) but rest assured - Yoshi's journey to protect Mario is never dull and it's unlike anything else in gaming.
