18. Mirror's Edge: Catalyst Is Open-World, Due Feb 23, 2016
After being announced two years ago at E3 and prototype gameplay being revealed last year, Mirror's Edge: Catalyst was finally given a proper coming out party this year, in what is a prequel to Faith's first story and transforms the series into an open-world action platformer. Faith's task is to "open the eyes of a whole city" from villainous Gabriel Krueger, a magnate who wants to remove any and all semblance of privacy from the city. With the game consisting of simply one huge world and apparently having no loading times once the game's started, this is certainly a project with a ton of promise, one which could reach the potential that the original fell somewhat short of. Also, it's out in late February, so should help break up the post-holidays video game drought.
