15. Ghost Recon: Wildlands Takes The Franchise Open-World
The Ghost Recon series takes its leap to the current gen with Wildlands, which appears to reinvent the series in the vein of the wildly in-vogue open-world play-style, while placing co-operative play at the forefront. Though the gameplay-heavy trailer was relatively vague, it made clear that the game's goal is primarily to bring down South American drug lords, and demonstrated the dual-path approach to play: players can play "stealthy" (which still involves blowing up drug labs, mind), or full-out Rambo, killing every goon in sight. From a visual perspective, it looks gorgeous, and the gameplay seems varied enough that this could be the shot in the arm the series is in dire need of after several solid yet uninventive entries. Still, with Ubisoft at the helm, many are no doubt worried that those lovely graphics might end up downgraded before the game's unspecified release date comes to rise.
