4 Things We Want From Dead Space 3

1. CO-OP

Now if this article was called 5 things I don't want to see in Dead Space 3, cooperative play would be right up there at the top. Remember when I said that adding other people destroys all notion of a tense atmosphere? Well that goes double when you add another human player into the mix. Sure you could be creeping through a dark gore-ridden corridor, but when your partner is running about in circles and trying to thrust their junk in your face, it's hard to be afraid. Co-op though is a thing that we'll just have to deal with, so how do we want it to work?

Out of all the details available on the game, one of the more interesting tid bits were on the character known as Dark Isaac, a product of Isaac's continued deterioration of his mental state. For co-op there needs to be a separate campaign where one player controls Isaac while the other is in control of this Dark Isaac. With two very similar but also different characters there's the potential to bring in some awesome co-op mechanics. With regular Isaac the player can use all the normal weapons usually available to them. So plasma cutters, pulse rifles, rippers. However the player's kinetic and stasis powers should be disabled. This is where player two as Dark Isaac comes in. Being some kind of other worldly being from Isaac's mind, cut him off from actual weapons but give him the power to use the kinetic and stasis powers. This should get plenty of teamwork going.
