4 Types Of Video Game DLC You Should Hate (And 4 To Love)

2. Worst: Horse Armour

Horse Armour Oh come on, you knew this one was coming right? About as infamous as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was famous after release, the horse armour pack has become the de-facto standard for naff downloadable content. It's exactly what it says on the tin really. It's armour, for your horse. It's completely pointless, does nothing worthwhile and is a blatant example of early DLC money-grabbing activities. It's been ridiculed constantly over the years following its release, and is now a legendary DLC item of the past. Looking back, Pete Hines of Bethesda had the following to say about the debacle:
"You can look at something like Horse Armor pack as an example. The reaction to Horse Armor wasn't just about price. It was more of a lesson: when you're going to ask somebody to pay X, do they feel like they're getting Y in exchange? If they don't feel like they're getting their money's worth, they're going to bitch."
Indeed we will Pete. Indeed we will. Personally I love horse armour. Who doesn't love a pretty horse?
