41 Must Buy Video Games Of 2014

7. Wolfenstein: The New Order €“ TBA (PS3, PS4, 360, XBO, PC)

Admittedly, these rejuvenations of pioneering FPS franchises haven€™t gone well with recent outings such as the infamous Duke Nukem Forever, but we actually have seen The New Order in action. And it definitely looks to be harkening back to old school mechanics €“ such as unregenerating health €“ but with a more refined approach that balances unforgiving gameplay with its roots. It€™s also just been too long since I€™ve shot up some Nazis with a chain-gun; something that never gets old. http://youtu.be/BlvfqfGTar4

6. Tales Of Xillia 2 €“ TBA (PS3)

It€™s very rare for any JRPG to receive sequel treatment let alone a Tales game, but Xillia won many gamers over. The story wasn€™t as cliché as most entries €“ which are honestly just JRPG storytelling 101- and the characters were charming. Furthermore, Xillia 2 is currently available in Japan and has been met with similar praise. If you like JRPGs the game is worth checking out regardless of having played its predecessor, because the combat is extremely fast and fluid, and one of the best battle systems in the franchise. I can only imagine that it€™s only more improved and satisfying.

5. Halo 5 €“ TBA (XBO)

Everyone that has or will buy an Xbox One is waiting for this game. Even those that know nothing whatsoever about video games and whom chance upon this list will see Halo and instantly understand its presence on this list. Bungie revolutionized the modern CFPS game and 343 Studios has every intention of expanding an already humongous legacy rich with lore, ranging from video games to novels, and soon television.

4. Quantum Break €“ TBA (XBO)

No game on the Xbox One looks more intriguing to me personally than Quantum Break. Remedy is a fantastic development studio responsible for some of the greatest story driven games in the industry, ranging from Max Payne to Alan Wake. In Quantum Break, the talented developers seem to be fusing time-altering mechanics into their already excellent third-person shooter gameplay. Furthermore, the game comes packaged with a television show that will allow players to affect the narrative in some capacity. As always, Remedy is hard at work on ambitious stuff.
