45 Reasons Why THE LEGEND OF ZELDA Could Be The Greatest Series Of All Time

36. Link the Shapeshifter

Yeah, so we know about the whole wolf thing from Twilight Princess. But remember the shape shifting in ? The game featured the land of Hyrule, and an alternate darker version of Hyrule. Imaginatively named the dark world, this world changed your surroundings so that trees had horrible creepy faces, more monsters swarmed the areas around you and pretty much every being turned into a darker more sinister version of itself. And what happened when Link ventured here? Yeah, you guessed it! He turned into a cuddly bunny, who's to blame him though, we all have a dark side.

37. The Legend of Zelda Movie

38. Famous Zeldas

As we know, Robin Williams' daughter, Zelda, was named after the game's very own princess. However, Miyamoto has stated that princess Zelda was named after Zelda Fitzgerald, wife of American novelist, F. Scott Fitzgerald.

39. Minigames

One of my absolute favourite parts of the Zelda is the minigames. The most well known is most likely the fishing hole, but each game has featured it's own unique set. Ocarina of time had horseback archery, (the near impossible) bombchu bowling, a treasure chest game and even a jam with the skullkid! That's just the Ocarina of time, other games have featured crane games (inc. Yoshi as a prize), a river rapid ride, sledding and countless others.

40. Remember the CD-i Games?

No, and neither do we! Now this will never be spoken of again because for some reason Philips were able to release their own versions not made by Nintendo that have absolutely nothing to do with the series as a whole and inevitably led to Nintendo shunning it to the back of the closet never to be spoken of again, along with Waluigi who's sole purpose only seemed to be Wario's tennis partner. There were three CD-i games in total, the third of which, Zelda's Adventure, had the gamer control Zelda. Unlike the two previous games which were side-scrolling this was the traditional top down view and featured live-action cut scenes. Why they weren't nominated for an Oscar we'll never know. http://youtu.be/3O_ZPR2q7cg Link, captured by Ganon! Don't be silly.
