The latest game from People Can Fly, the developers behind BulletStorm and the original PainKiller, was delayed by two months earlier in the year (from February to April).

Short delays tend not to be a great sign with videogames - Cyberpunk 2077 & the infamously terrible Duke Nukem Forever both had their release dates pushed back by a single month - but hopefully Outriders can buck the trend.

Outriders' demo was released into the wild on February 25th, and the consensus so far is... it's another People Can Fly game. Which is good! People Can Fly make entertaining games, and Outriders looks like another solid addition to the ever-growing looter-shooter genre.

Not to say the demo was perfect, though. The dialogue often falls on the wrong side of the chuckle/cringe-worthy divide, and the game's preponderance of brown environments feels like an unwelcome homage to the Xbox 360 era of shooters.

However, if People Can Fly manage to tighten up the dialogue and introduce some more colourful levels into the mix then there's every chance Outriders can take its place alongside the likes of Destiny and Warframe.

At the very least, it can't do any worse than Anthem.
