5 Anticipated 2021 Video Games That Have Already Been Delayed
1. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2
Of all the delays on this list, this is undoubtedly the most dramatic.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is no stranger to controversy - the original 2004 game was notoriously unfinished on release, to the extent that it's still being patched by its devoted fanbase to this day - and it looks like the second entry in the series is shaping up to be another heat-magnet.
Paradox, the game's publisher, released a statement in February declaring "...a change is needed, and more time is required". The "change" they were referring to was a big one - Hardsuit Labs, the previous developers, were dismissed, and a new (as yet un-named) studio was put in charge.
That's a hell of a shake-up by any standards. Games get delayed all the time, but for a publisher to dismiss a developer outright is still extremely rare. Even games like the aforementioned Prince of Persia remake - which was slaughtered by fans upon its reveal - generally keep the same development studio throughout.
If Bloodlines 2's in-game story is half as intriguing as the events leading up to its release, gamers are in for one hell of a treat when it finally launches (whenever that may be).
