3. Demi Moore - Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)
Okay so Angelina Jolie was pretty damn awful as Lara Croft. In fact she was awful enough to warrant a Razzie nomination for her efforts. However you can't argue with results. The fact of the matter is that Lara Croft: Tomb Raider set box office records for video game adaptations that would not be topped until the release of the Prince of Persia film in 2010. Kickass franchise and arguably the biggest female star in Hollywood at the time. Hard to argue with that formula. What's rather easy to contest is the near casting of Demi Moore in the titular role. Why? G.I. Jane. Her closest action role to date goes down in cinematic history as the worst film ever to have Ridley Scott's name attached to it. It wasn't entirely Demi Moore's fault - it would have stunk either way, but she simply cannot act. Never has she given a convincing performance, and thinking about her mid-40s delivery of wooden, English-accented lines is enough to cause cringe-induced facial-implosions. Not literally.
