5 Brilliant Remixes Of Legendary Game Scores You Need To Hear

2. Lost Woods (Dubstep Mix) €“ DJEphixa

This was my very first foray into VGM Remix. Everyone remembers the catchy and rhythmic tune of the lost woods from Zelda: Ocarina of Time; the images of adorable Deku Shrubs bouncing in unison while the trickery of the mystical woods drove you mad. In some circles of music lovers, Dubstep gets a bad rep due to its "universal sound" and given my research, what many forum posters claim as the abuse of blenders and power drills. However, Ephixa maintains the balance by respecting the tone of the original content. There are two versions in regular circulation; one with lyrics and one without (and one that is 10 hours long. For the sake of your sanity and PTSD obtained due to childhood afternoons lost in the titular woods, I don't suggest this endeavor be taken lightly). With more than 18 million views on YouTube, it is safe to say that this track and DJEphixa have earned their spot on this chart of impressive VGM remixes. It is also to be noted that Ephixa has done other VGM related remixes including music from the Kirby's Dreamland series as well as other Zelda: Ocarina of Time / Wind Waker tracks and music from the Portal Series. Apart from our #1 spot, you will be hard pressed to find a VGM Remix artist with more love for the genre then DJEphixa.
