5 Great Spider-Man Video Games (And 5 That Sucked)

3. Sucked: Spider-Man: Friend Or Foe

Two things have made Spider-Man iconic: his relatability, and his rogues' gallery. While we have plenty of opportunities to take control of the web slinger throughout his extensive list of video games, rarely do we ever have the chance to play as one of his villains.

Enter Spider-Man: Friend or Foe. Based on the original trilogy, though not a film tie-in like the other three Spider-Man games, Spider-Man: Friend or Foe offered an interesting and exciting concept. Instead of only controlling the web head, players could take on the role of various heroes or villains.

On the side of justice, you could swap Spider-Man for characters like Black Cat, while on the opposite end of the spectrum, you could become Green Goblin, Venom, and other villains. Perhaps even more exciting was the ability to play in co-op mode with friends.

Unfortunately, the execution wasn't as amazing as the idea behind it. The game was way too easy and repetitive despite its cool premise. Had it been designed for a younger audience (similar Marvel Super Hero Squad) it might have been redeemable.
