5 Greatest Video Game Wingmen Of All Time

3. Zeke Dunbar - Infamous

Zekecolebeer Although the title 'wingman' connotes someone who helps the other guy pick up ladies, I'm not using that term in the literal sense for this article. That being said, if any video game character fits that description its Zeke Dunbar. We first met Zeke from in 2009's inFamous, the PS3 exclusive from developer Sucker Punch. In the first game Zeke was protagonist Cole's best friend, the man who stood by him when all others did not. However Zeke somewhat turned on Cole in the 3rd act, hoping to gain powers for himself, however he atoned for this and the two made up. In inFamous 2 Zeke really became Cole's wingman. Zeke played a bigger role in the second game and continually stuck his neck out for Cole, which makes the evil ending of inFamous 2 all the harder. Zeke is a consistently funny character who isn't overly annoying and when you do have to play alongside him he doesn't need constant attention. Zeke's best role to date was probably that of the inFamous 2 DLC story, Festival of Blood. This downloadable add-on saw Zeke telling a story to a girl in a bar to try in an attempt to impress her, the story itself saw the reawakening of evil vampire, Bloody Mary, who turns Cole into a vampire. Cole then has until dawn to send Mary back to her tomb or he becomes her slave for eternity. Zeke narrates throughout Festival of Blood and his attempt to woo the women in the bar is simply great to watch. Needless to say this story takes place outside the inFamous canon. Cole and Zeke make quite the duo, especially in inFamous 2 which felt slightly like a buddy movie. There are many great moments between the two, specifically a scene I've always loved has Cole and Zeke sit down to watch TV and drink beers, the two don't speak throughout the entire scene, they fall asleep only to wake up with Cole and Zeke cuddling. It's a great scene that helped to drive home the importance of their relationship. Zeke is truly a wingman, even inadvertently hooking Cole up in Festival of Blood. He's a funny guy who always has your back, because, as Zeke said to Cole, "I don't call you brother because I like the way it sounds."
