3. Bomberman - Bomberman: Act Zero
This guy has been around a lot longer than people give it credit for. The first Bomberman came out before I was born. Bomberman is one of the cutest characters in video games. On top of the cuteness, the gameplay is really simple and fun. You just place bombs around a small maze map and blow up rocks until you get close enough to bomb your enemies. It would actually be pretty horrific if it wasn't so adorable. I guess that's why it was able to last so long and have a billion sequels. http://youtu.be/wdO0VB1ogMI Why have you not played a new Bomberman game in years? Enter, Bomberman: Act Zero. The idea was to take all the good things about this retro classic and distort it beyond recognition. With the magic "complete overhaul"; this involved transforming the look of the game from family fun to post-apocalyptic robots beating each others robot-brains out. Then it played terrible: complete with awful controls and no save feature. It's bad, very bad! I will happily stick the retro Bomberman on the XBox Live Arcade. Why? Because it is fun, something that Act Zero was not. Pure and simple.
