4. Sephiroth - Final Fantasy VII
Here's an addition that will chap the asses of Final Fantasy VII fanboys all around the world. Ladies and gentlemen: Sephiroth. Yes, I mean it. Tell me something, if I spend over 70 hours on a game leveling up my band of misfits in order to defeat the man who burned down the main character's village, broke his spirit, killed his love interest, and attempted to strike the planet with a meteor, ending all life as we know it, why should all of that effort be wasted on a final encounter that can be ended with even a single one of your weakest attacks? I know what you're thinking, "Safer Sephiroth is the actual final battle," and that's simply not the case. This is indeed a battle, you even get battle commands, and Sephiroth himself is capable of striking you. If that's not enough, you can't even die in this battle. Should you be capable of using a counter attack. Sephiroth will strike you for incredibly low damage and then you will immediately charge back at him and do your own small portion of damage, and even this will kill him.
This was more of an interactive cutscene than an actual battle, and it thoroughly disappointed me. Sephiroth was an intimidating antagonist, and I admit that, but this fight doesn't do anything good for his credibility. This would be lower on the list, but we have bigger fish to fry.
