2. Reminiscent Of Older Games From This Generation
Back in 2007, we saw a shooter that attempted to take the multiplayer shooter that we know and love and change it, tweak it, experiment with it, in order to create something that people would love, a change to the tried and true forumla and a new fad would be created. That was Shadowrun, a game for the Xbox 360 and PC based on the popular Sci-Fantasy Tabletop game of the same name. It combined elements of Counter-Strike with supernatural abilities, creatures and gadgets in order to form something that changed the playing field every time you loaded up the map. Unfortunately due to mixed critical reviews and a significant lack of content for a multiplayer-only game, the title fell into obscurity. However, now that we've passed the era of the modern-military-shooter dominance in the market, we're seeing, once again, developers experiment with the formula, tweaking it to make it different. If you, like me, really enjoyed the likes of Shadowrun and other 'slightly different' shooters, Titanfall is the first of the wave of interesting new shooters to come out in the near future.
