5 Reasons Marvel's 'Superior Spider-Man' Would Make A Great Video Game

4. Mini-Games And Upgrades

When taking control of Peter Parker's body, Octavius didn't just assume the role of being Spider-Man, he also had to continue to live Peter's life outside of the mask. One of the few genuinely positive alterations Octavius made to Peter's double-life was to complete his doctorate and use his own brilliance to create 'Parker Industries'. Using the basis of Peter's own inventions and a few of his own innovations, Octavius transformed Dr. Peter Parker into an industrial player. While Peter used his role at Horizon Labs as a way of improving the tech and gadgets of his "friend" Spider-Man, Octavius took this to a higher level and made countless additions to his arsenal including Spider Drones, clawed gloves and even an army of hired men to help him keep eyes across the city. Otto's additions would give players the chance to explore the potential of gadgets and abilities unlike any other as they build on the basic powers that Peter possesses. Players could deploy their spider drones in a 'Watch Dogs'-esque surveillance tactic in a hostage situation, or even send a few simple foot soldiers out to deal with lesser crimes and keep the city safe. These abilities and gadgets could be unlocked through the game by gaining experience and progressing in an RPG style, and players could start to feel as though they are finding their feet like Otto began to during his time as Spider-Man. Once unlocked, upgrades like the spider drones could even be employed as mini-games were players command small armies of drones and soldiers like pieces on a chess or risk board. The action elements of the game would be well-balanced by tactical challenges and offer a different take on the basic Spider-Man game.
