5 Reasons Why Nintendo Should Make A Wind Waker Sequel For The Wii U

1. The Failure Of The Wii U

Struggling Nintendo Not to state the obvious, but the Wii U is floundering in mediocrity. Underpowered hardware, unintuitive software, and an uninspired library of games to choose from makes for a veritable perfect storm for the poor console. Nintendo has gotten out of the habit of creative thinking and instead have been handing out half-assed bargain bin fodder almost from the outset. That's not the type of thinking Nintendo was founded on, and if the company is ever going to get gamers to take it seriously again, it needs to consider bringing out the big guns. IE, putting out games with established fanbases. I'm not talking about another "New Super Mario World 6" or whatever, I'm talking about a beefy, original game with plot and strategy and memorable characters. A sequel to Wind Waker would be the perfect flag bearer for this return to power for several reasons. Firstly, the HD version already looks amazing, and like I said earlier, unique, stylized games are Nintendo's forte. Secondly, people loved Wind Waker. Any Google search for "best Zelda game" turns up surveys and forums with Wind Waker leading as the favorite more often than not. The sequel would essentially sell itself, which saves Nintendo big bucks on marketing. Finally, a Wind Waker sequel would make 2014 a golden year for Nintendo. The company is already bringing out games like Super Smash Brothers and Mario Kart 8 later this year, and if there turned out to be a Wind Waker sequel in the works, Nintendo would blow people's minds all over their faces. I hope you enjoyed my article. I'm a huge fan of Nintendo, and it's hard to see them struggle like they have recently. As much as I'd like to see a Wind Waker sequel rendered in beautiful HD, I don't really think it'll happen. Thanks for reading, and constructive commenting is welcome.
