5 Reasons We Need Days Gone 2
4. Its Biggest Flaws Could Be Easily Addressed
Days Gone had its big negatives, especially at launch, but many of the technical problems have been fixed or would easily be resolved for a sequel.
When it was released Days Gone has two big criticisms. The first was that the game was littered with bugs at launch. Framedrops, audio dropouts and syncing issues in certain areas were obvious which made it feel like the launch was rushed, which could be down to the already severe delays with the project.
A PC version was released in 2021 which fixes these problems and steps up the quality across the board. This is the version that should have been brought out on PS4 in 2019.
Days Gone's other big problem was the slow start to the story, which struggled to capture the attention of a wider audience. It certainly gets stronger as it goes, but if a sequel had taken place, I would have expected the opening hours to be filled with exciting scenarios to hook people in, as at the core is a really strong game once it gets going.
