Yellow Submarine Many have speculated that the reason why no EarthBound sequel had a North American release on the Nintendo 64 or the Nintendo Wii is because of copyright issues. When playing the game, it is easy to pick out some classic tunes €“ Chuck Berry€™s €œJohnny B. Goode€ is of particular note, playing during battles with the New Age Retro Hippie enemy. There are also multiple references to The Beatles, including a yellow submarine and a fill-in-the-blank question in Onett, the hometown of the story€™s hero, Ness, which ends up spelling €œYesterday.€ The game even has a band that is integral to furthering Ness€™s journey called the Runaway 5, whose members are clearly references to the Blues Brothers. These references are in no way malicious, and they simply serve to make EarthBound one of the most fun games since the conception of video games. That leads up perfectly into our next segment€
