5 Reasons Why Suda 51 Is The Quentin Tarantino of Gaming

3. Taking Risks

Much like Tarantino, and countless other important artists, Suda has made some calls that some people may have worried about. Making a game about a busty cheergirl who fights zombies seems a bit too camp for most, but Suda 51 made it work, and Lollypop Chainsaw became one of the funniest games on the market, forcing gamers to re-evaluate their perceptions of games based on their covers. Tarantino could put out an action movie with some big time actors in it and do just fine, but thankfully for us film fans who crave something more, that kind of thing bores him. He would rather create something like Jackie Brown, with it's richer layers and more colourful tapestry, pushing boundaries and making film-fans look backwards to the film's cinematic lineage to really explore all of the film's nuances. Maybe that sort of thing doesn't find a huge audience, but it conveys its message and entertains like little else can. Risks are to be rewarded, and though both men could fall back on safer, less challenging art, they prefer to push at what we know.
