5 Shockingly Dull Minigames (In Otherwise Awesome Games)

3. Garbage Disposal - Super Mario Galaxy

We all know that Mario is a plumber, but his 'plumbing' mostly involves eating mushrooms and saving a princess from a dinosaur that just won't take a hint. Unfortunately, the garbage disposal levels in Super Mario Galaxy are pretty damn close to its real life equivalent. Except that it's in space. And there's a robot. And bombs. Okay, so it's not exactly the same, but it's a noticeable dip in quality when you consider that other minigames in Galaxy include riding a Manta Ray down a race course made of water that's floating in the sky. Did someone at Nintendo throw some rubbish in a bin and suddenly realise that this amazing platformer wouldn't be complete without Mario blowing up garbage with bombs? How the hell did this even make it into the game? There are two hidden stars which require Mario to become the galaxy's garbage man and the last one is so difficult it's not even funny (well, it kind of is if you're watching someone else struggle with it). It's rage-quit-worthy stuff that absolutely no one would miss if it wasn't in the game.

When I'm not playing games, I'm probably either writing about them somewhere or singing stupid songs inspired by them. Or eating pizza.
